PRESS RELEASE for August 1, 2026, in Fürth, Germany
One Man – 100 Machines.
The idea that a single person could operate 100 machines and handle an entire production run is unimaginable to many people. These special black selvedge denim jackets, on the other hand, are produced using just ten machines. What makes them unique is that in many places, the selvedge was not trimmed away when the weft thread did not align with the pattern. As a result, the jackets feature perfect, lovingly placed hand-stitches. And the flat-felled seams are twice as strong as usual. That’s what knight’s armor feels like. The collars were also meticulously crafted to achieve exceptional durability. If a manufacturer didn’t have the right machines to produce the 501, the customer’s order was canceled. This was also the practice of the world’s most legendary sewing machine factory, Union Special. When you handle production yourself, you often feel like you have to apologize for it. Yet they have absolutely no idea what a powerful thing it is to own a textile workshop.
On August 1, 2026, the time will come when the jackets can be tried on and purchased in person. And let’s be clear: I’m also looking forward to wearing the black selvedge denim jackets myself.
